Licensed, insured, and USDA-registered pet export services for seamless international relocation.

About Vannessa

Hi! I'm Vannessa McGregor, owner & founder of Doggone International. I've helped pets travel safely around the world for over a decade. I'm USDA-licensed, insured, and work with vets all across the US to make sure every paw gets where it's going—stress-free.

I started working in the veterinary field during high school as a kennel assistant. I lived in Cleveland, Ohio at the time so after I graduated high school, I moved to South Florida with my family and continued to do what I loved most, working with the animals. I continued my career in the veterinary field and eventually became the office manager at a clinic where I ended up working at for 23 years. With that being said, that is where I gained the knowledge of international pet travel.

I have 2 dogs (Jax and Leo) and 2 cats (Walle and Oliver). I enjoy spending time with my husband and my grandson and love anything to do with being outdoors (especially hand feeding my squirrel friends). I also enjoy riding my bike, and gardening.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about international pet travel

How far in advance should I start planning my pet's international travel?

We recommend starting the planning process at least 3-6 months before your intended travel date. This allows sufficient time for vaccinations, health certificates, and any required quarantine periods. Some countries have specific requirements that can take several months to complete.

What documents does my pet need for international travel?

Required documents vary by destination country, but typically include: USDA health certificate, vaccination records, microchip documentation, import permits, and sometimes blood test results. We handle all the paperwork and ensure everything meets the destination country's requirements.

Do you work with any veterinarian, or do I need to use a specific one?

We can work with any USDA-accredited veterinarian. If you don't have a preferred vet, we can recommend qualified veterinarians in your area. We coordinate directly with your chosen vet to ensure all requirements are met properly.

How much does international pet travel cost?

Costs vary depending on destination country, pet size, and specific requirements. Our service fees are transparent and competitive. We provide detailed quotes after reviewing your pet's travel needs. Contact us for a personalized estimate.

Can you help with pets other than dogs and cats?

Yes! We have experience with various pets including birds, rabbits, ferrets, and other small animals. Each species has different requirements, and we'll work with you to ensure your pet meets all necessary regulations for international travel.

What if my pet gets sick during the travel process?

We work closely with veterinarians throughout the process and can adjust timelines if health issues arise. Some countries may require additional testing or quarantine periods. We'll guide you through any necessary changes and ensure your pet's health and safety remain the top priority.

Do you provide transportation services or just documentation?

We specialize in documentation and coordination services. We work with trusted transportation partners and can recommend reliable pet transport services. Our focus is ensuring all paperwork is correct and your pet meets all requirements for safe international travel.

What happens if my pet doesn't meet the destination country's requirements?

We'll work with you to develop a plan to meet all requirements. This might involve additional vaccinations, waiting periods, or alternative travel arrangements. Our goal is to find a solution that works for both you and your pet while meeting all legal requirements.
